Magnesium Sulfate to Prevent Cerebral Palsy Yields Mixed Results

Giving magnesium sulfate to women at imminent risk for delivery at 24-31 weeks’ gestation in the hope of preventing cerebral palsy in their offspring yielded mixed results in a multicenter study, according to a report in the Aug. 28 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
