College Park, Md. (EGMN) -- A Food and Drug Administration advisory panel voted 10 to 8 that the data from two clinical trials of the antibiotic oritavancin failed to show it is an effective and safe treatment for complicated skin and skin structure infections, citing that more evidence is needed to prove its efficacy against methicillin-resistant .
